The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake hit 19 miles southeast of Izucar, Puebla, Mexico.

Buildings are reported to have shaken in Mexico City itself; no word of any casualties at or near the epicenter.

This is the second large earthquake to strike the region in just over a month.

Whereas the USGS places the epicenter in Puebla, initial media reports placed the occurrence in Guerrero State.

El epicentro del seísmo, de 6 grados de magnitud en la escala Richter, se ha situado en el estado de Guerrero, a unos 280 kms de México DF.

The earthquake was in the Popocatepetl volcano.

Puebla and Guerrero are different States. The Popocatepetl is shared by 3 states: Puebla, Guerrero and Morelos.

Greetings.
