The Leicester based company Ethical Party Bags ( www.ethicalpartybags.com) have just launched a great Easter product that’ll save Mums a lot of headaches when they’re wondering what the Easter bunny should bring:  a gift bag containing three Fairtrade chocolate eggs and a keepsake papier maché egg.

The brightly coloured eggs are hand made by a small family company in Kashmir, India who have been producing ethical gifts for over three generations.  The sale of the eggs brings a valuable source of income to an area which was previously totally reliant on tourist income.

Each egg is made from papier mache using the traditional method of soaking recycled newspapers, moulding and drying.  Then the eggs are carefully hand painted by the Kashmir employees in a range of brightly coloured lacquer colours.

‘We want to offer our customers an Easter product that is a little bit different and appeals to both mums and the children,’ said Anna Smith, Managing Director and Founder of Ethical Party Bags.  ‘As well as three delicious chocolates the child gets a beautiful egg to keep in its own gift bag.  The whole product is fairly traded, so our customers can be sure that when they buy these Easter eggs they’re not just making their own children happy, but also contributing to the income of the families in Kashmir to give them a better life.’

Ethical Party Bags sells a range of environmentally friendly pre-filled party bags, party prizes and gifts, offering a ‘green’ party solution for the environmentally conscious parent.
