Garden in Winter-Video-01

With snow covering most of Canada and the land sleeping beneath a white coat, you might think that no gardening can be done.  Not so.  Now is the time to plan what wonderful crops you'll plant and harvest this summer.  January is the busiest time of the year for seed suppliers.

Whether you like to curl up with wooly socks in front of a fireplace perusing a seed catalog or flit around on line, there are many seed houses available that can supply just the right tomato or rare flower seeds to complete your garden.  For beginner gardeners, many of the seed houses supply detailed growing instructions with your order.  For those who specialize in organically grown, heritage seeds, there are suppliers to fit the bill.

I have listed some web sites of seed suppliers in Canada.  Some seed houses specialize in seeds especially adapted to your mini-climate.  So, whether you garden on your balcony or plant enough to sell, now is the time to plan that summer harvest.

These suggestions will get you started on your search for the perfect seed.

Yes, it's hard to think about gardening now when it's just white outside, but it's a good idea to plan ahead. I'm not much of a gardener but I will pass this on to my mother!
