Eco credit crunch 2030

The financial crisis should be a warning to us. If we continue to live on the Earth Ecological credit, we need 2030 the equivalent of 2 planet resources to keep up our lifestyle. The way out is a sustainable VIDA-economy (vida=life) for business and agriculture.

UAE worst Eco footprint per person

How to establish the Eco credit line limit and payback for the rich to the  Worldbank ? How to limit overpopulation of the Poor, that increases Eco credit demand with no chance to cash in (=hunger) ? How does the new Economy look like to work first time on a closed loop (surveillance of bandwith limits) system. Is there an example for a life sustaining economy, relating to the resources? The Pharaohs in Egypt had a agriculture - culture system worth to look at it, but not fitting for 10 bn people 2050.

Eco credit crunch 2030

The planet is headed for an ecological "credit crunch", according to a report issued by conservation groups. The document contends that our demands on natural resources overreach what the Earth can sustain by almost a third.

Eco credit natural capital

Food - Water - Energy

The report concludes that the reckless consumption of "natural capital" is endangering the world's future prosperity, with clear economic impacts including high costs for food, water and energy

The Living Planet Report is the work of WWF, the Zoological Society of London and the Global Footprint Network. It says that more than three quarters of the world's population lives in countries where consumption levels are outstripping environmental renewal.

Eco creditors (debtors) land sea forest waste

This makes them "ecological debtors", meaning that they are drawing - and often overdrawing - on the agricultural land, forests, seas and resources of other countries to sustain them.

Eco Footprint Explainer: TWO planets 2030

Land Footprint

The "ecological footprint" - land and sea needed for the resources we use and the waste we produce- is 5.3 hectares per person for the UK. This is TWO PLANETS  compared to the 2 hectares per person actually available for the global population

Water Footprint

Water consumption footprint showed  is  far greater than people think, to produce one cow you need a train filled with water. The beef, sugar and cotton shirts water footprint comes along with 60% imported water footprint for the UK ( Beef imported etc.)

Planet resources 40% creditors: US & China

The countries with the biggest impact on the planet are the US and China, together accounting for some 40% of the global footprint.

Worst Eco inhabitant performers: US & UAE

The report shows the US and United Arab Emirates have the largest ecological footprint per person, while Malawi and Afghanistan have the smallest.

Best Eco performer: Afghanistan

SOLARLIFE, I like this story. It's good stuff. US and China are the worst offenders, not surprising. It doesn't look like anything is going to change anytime soon. Seems like priorities are screwed up. We will see even more big earth changes.

sara star...We will see even more big earth changes...Amazing the ECO footprint / person you find the UAE United Arab Emirates in the worth place. It depends now if the crisis leads to a new life-sustaining economy, the old car industry is dead and no economy engine.

SOLARLIFE, I like this story. It's good stuff.

I've always found this site to be really helpful for calculating what your carbon footprint actually is and how you can reduce it.

Amyjudd, thanks for Carbon footprint calculator, very easy to handle, I integrated the link in the article. Will calculate my CO2 value too.
