A basidiomycete fungus throwing up its reproductive structures (toadstools) in a "fairy ring". Conifer plantation at the west end of Edgelaw Reservoir, Midlothian, Scotland. While taking the Lepiota photographs earlier in this series, I took note that they were growing beneath European Larch. This ring was nearby but the cones suggest the trees in this part of the forest are Norway Spruce ( Picea abies).
