Tomorrow is the first day of Fall 2009, marked by the Autumnal Equinox, when the sun passes directly over the equator, with the Earth's tilt in the vertical: neither away nor toward the Sun. Here in Vancouver, we're already seeing the leaves turn, and it's dark when I commute to work, though technically the Autumnal Equinox isn't until 2.19pm Pacific Time tomorrow. Yes, that makes today the last day of Summer 2009 in the Northern Hemisphere. Time Change 2009 has not yet taken place, though.
Daylight Savings Time 2009 won't hit until November 1, though.
The sumacs are turning red, there's a hint of yellow and orange in the trees, apples are in season and overnight temperatures are slipping to single digits.
This is the best time of year for running and cycling, though.
