Still heading towards the bulk of Japan, the storm formerly known as Typhoon Sinlaku has gradually faded after its intense encounter with
Taiwan. Tappered down
flood warnings are still in effect for the southern parts of mainland Japan. On 18 September 2008, this island of the Ryukyu archipelago, Okinawa, awakes to the reminants of the system as it moves onward.
