Still heading towards the bulk of Japan, the storm formerly known as Typhoon Sinlaku has gradually faded after its intense encounter with Taiwan. Tappered down flood warnings are still in effect for the southern parts of mainland Japan. On 18 September 2008, this island of the Ryukyu archipelago, Okinawa, awakes to the reminants of the system as it moves onward.

I found your footage of the end of Sinlaku while searching for information about this typhoon. I, too, am just a wife...a housewife, mother, grandmother, dog-owner. I saw your doggie...was that your dog?
Are you on Okinawa?
I have a very, very close friend in Nagoya whom I keep close tabs on. Whenever there's a storm approaching her, I research the situation. That way I know what is happening to her.
I enjoyed your description of the sunrise where you are, the end of the typhoon, the chirping of the birds and the moon's fading. Thanks!
