Prince Charles campaign to protect the rainforests - video

Everyday the words save our world come into play. Firstly the media are great at bringing us all up to date, when discussing the delicate issue of our beloved planet earth. Then there is the recent attempt of rainforest awareness via Princes Charles William and Harry with special guest star a frog without a name.Yes! Save the planet, team up with a frog. Well, why not. Are frogs endearing creatures to us all, Of course they are very endearing and at the same time green and slimy? As a child I recall blowing down a straw letting the air from my sweet breath connect to the wee frog’s posterior and whoopee it jumped. Was I torturing this frog? Or loving It.? Being brought up by the riverside was a bonus for frog hunting, me and my pals would often go on a frog hunt and play with the mysterious creatures we never harmed or imprisoned, and the frogs were safely ensconced back to where they came, there natural habitat by the riverside. We would wash our hands in the river and proceed to our next little adventure.
Frog hunting, to us misguided kids was just a simple fun way to study nature first hand and play. Do frogs have feelings do they have a heart can they become upset when blown on by a bunch of kids with straws. Only the frogs know the answer to that question.   Prince Charles and sons William and Harry are filmed with a digitally enhanced frog, clearly relaxed they look at the frog then tell us all to save the rainforest.  Prince Charles, who in the past has been widely reported to talk to his plants, has started the new campaign to save the planet. Will a frog make a difference, in getting the message across?…………..  Maybe, but if only the frog had been given an endearing name.A mean Kermit is adorable isn’t he !…It has to be said I would never kiss a frog in the hope it turned into a prince. However I have in the past kissed a prince.

I like it, the add campaign is great and Frogs are the most threaten by immediate extinction especially in the Amazon.

Nice post Jazzy and well written. I agree, maybe the frog should have a name, however that may distract from the issue at hand as well. No name may be what will catch on more and it is some what symbolic as well. Who will remember our names if we are all gone extinct?

Amphibians are the most endangered species in the world.
SAVE THE FROGS

 Frogs are disappearing.
Frog populations have been declining worldwide at unprecedented rates, and nearly one-third of the world’s 6,418 amphibian species are threatened with extinction. At least 100 species have completely disappeared since 1980, and this is NOT normal: amphibians naturally go extinct at a rate of only about one species every 250 years!!!

Thanks for this entertaining spin on a serious message about ecology.  Incidentally, was your prince royalty in fact or in perception?

I couldn't see the video due to 'terms of violation'.

I would really love to see Royals talking to a frog.

I don't think they  really care enough about the environment, not using bicycles, flying in helicopters for jaunts to girlfriend, flying everywhere, the Queen having 4 kids...etc   If we have less money spend on our extravagent royals, we could afford to spend more on saving the rainforests.
