 An amazing discovery of a fungus that may prevent landfills from overflowing with plastics, some of which can last for one hundred years, may soon be in our future. 

 Some enterprising young students in a lab at Yale University have brought back a fungus from Ecuador that eats polyurethane which is used in almost every product in containers for many personal products, households and in industry.
