Galveston Historic Landmarks-After Ike by John Astad

Galveston historic  landmarks along the Seawall, which were destroyed by the ravages of Hurricane Ike, a Cat. 2 storm. The thumbnail photo insert in the lower right depicts the Balinese Room, Murdoch's Bathhouse, and Hooters prior to Ike's  landfall on the east end of Galveston in the early morning  hours of September 13, 2008.

The remnants of Murdoch's is all that is left after the 12-foot storm surge plowed into the seawall, flooding many homes and businesses in the city.
