Every Earth Day, we give our kids a hands-on experience in making our planet a little bit greener and this year, our job is easy.
Cool Globes, just installed in
L.A.'s Exposition Park as a part of its US tour, is FREE public art with a purpose: 50 larger-than-life sized globes, all bursting with color, are exhibited throughout the Rose Garden, and each tells its own story about global warming. Opening tomorrow on Earth Day (with free activities for all), Cool Globes is a perfect way to engage your family in a conversation about a green agenda. We saw Cool Globes in Chicago last year and our little kids ran around the over-sized orbs, learning on the go. The older kids were drawn in by each globe's practical message, from harnessing wind power to planting trees. To think about Earth's future, we cued up this year's Oscar-winner for Best Animated Feature; Pixar's
Wall-E tells the story of a dilapidated trash-compacting robot left behind on Earth after humans were forced to escape into space from a planet destroyed by pollution and garbage. Inspired by Wall-E's heroic journey to save Earth, our kids will visit Cool Globes again for new ideas on how they can help reverse global warming.
