Grapevine Shut Down Again Due to Los Angeles Snow

The Grapevine is closed again due to snow. The Grapevine, a section of I-5 north of Los Angeles, was shut down yesterday for a while as well. LA has been experiencing sci-fi-movie weather this week.  Tornado warnings, very heavy rain and flooding, high winds, massive surf, and snow. Further south,  San Diego International Airport is experiencing delays due to high wind, and Southwest Airlines suspended service to SAN.

CHP Officer John Lutz (Lootz) says a 30-mile stretch of the main freeway between Northern and Southern California was shut down Thursday. There's no word on how many drivers are stuck in the mountain pass or when the road will reopen.

If you're from NoCal, you call it I-5 or 5. If you're from SoCal, you call it "The Five".

The Crescenta/CaƱada area is under mandatory evacuation due to mudslide risk, but the evacuation did not go according to plan:

Many homeowners refused the order and remained in their residences, frustrating officials.
