The Grave Endangerment of Western Gorillas

I’m a group leader specializing in gorillas and chimpanzees at the Max
Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, and
I’m the guy who wrote the listing that put the western gorilla on the Red List of Threatened Species. I compiled all the background research and made a report, which was
then circulated in the ICUN, also known as the World Conservation
Union. The group that handles the listing process evaluated it and
decided to upgrade the status of western gorillas from endangered to
