I would have never believed it could happen so quickly. My brother told me about the news but I could not believe my ears until I saw it for myself. The mass of the Greenland sheet is the astounding factor. It's been there for 1000s of years. In one week, it's gone.

I'm still dumfounded by the news.. I still can't believe it.. Does that mean the Greenlanders will occupy the entire island? Farming and whatnot? I kinda doubt it.. Suppose the Greenlanders farm the interior of their island. That would assume the current 'warm spell' will last for a least a few years.. Considering the extreme weather variations we've observed in the last few years, I'd expect one of two scenarios:

  1. extreme desertification of Greenland making it inhospitable

  2. extreme rainfall over Greenland making it uninhabitable

Either case makes farming the interior infeasible.

Greenland (as Antarctica) is an indicator of Earth ecosystem health. Greenland fucked; Earth fucked. What do we do? Duck and cover? That don't work for catastrophic ecosystem failure.. There are only two solutions:

  1. run away – to another planet / location in space

  2. repair/heal Earth – which will take about 200 years

I have a 'buddy' who has developed a plan for restoration of our ecosystems.. But we must implement it NOW globally or we're totally fucked. Implement restoration or bend-over.. The choice is OURS.

because media is largely controlled by corporations ('big money') which only want you to see and hear what they want you to see and hear.. if you 'get wind' of anything which makes them look greedy/incompetent/uncaring (like global warming), you are not supported by their media.. ergo, NowPublic is about the only place you will hear about this.. in other words, anything that does not support their positions of power will be either marginalized or discredited.

What is NowPublic?

NowPublic lets people work together to cover news events around the world.
