Grey Wolves (Swedish)

In the old days grey wolves were in group hunting reindeers in the north and were killed by the sami people. The wolves had respect for the humans then.   In Sweden, the wolves have moved further south and are often hunting alone! As the population of wolves has decreased, the Swedish law forbids hunting of wolves. Because of this the wolves have lost their prior respect for humans. Nowadays they ignore the smell of humans and hunt domestic animals like sheep and young cows ( even dogs have been attacked ). The Swedish law has been amended somewhat, so that farmers have the right to kill the wolf, if it is the second visit to the farm! The discussions is going on in Sweden regarding the right to kill a wolf or not!    Until now, no human being has been attacked, but if and when it happens, we can expect  an extended right to kill wolves!!!   Regards, sweidre

its not too surprising their reviewing your account. 360 + photos of wolves is a bit ridiculous, did you even take one of them yourself?

I am from the United States and presently they unlisted the gray wolf in 3 states from endangered species because of their over population and attacks on domestic animals.  A few cattle here, a few cattle there, so,  if the ranchers would stop wanting every piece of land this may not have happened.  This is strange also since the US Fish & Wildlife reintroduced the wolf to the areas and now want to kill them off.  They placed the wolf in these areas because the elk and deer populations were getting out of hand and now that the elk have come down with a disease and the herds are dying off they now want to get rid of the wolves.  My thoughts, hey, if you placed them there in the first place, how about relocating them instead of killing them off. 

Ranchers say wolves are pests and should be killed off.  If they are than why were they created in the first place?  Maybe to harass the cattlemen!  How about looking at how mankind is encroaching on all the wild animals habitat!  If it was up to mankind we would all be on a total cemented planet or it would be controlled by zealous fanatics that want to own everything including your back yard.  Huh, maybe they do already and we just do not know it. 

Wolves hunt to feed the pack and not to just kill.  Only man does that!  They will attack when threatened or to protect their area (humm sounds like humans) doesnt it.  When one depletes their natural foods what is left but to eat sheep, cattle or maybe even a person as all in nature when starving will eat anything that is available.  Instead of all just stating lets kill the wolf lets look and see just why they are attacking our livestock.  I do not see any focus on this but everyone saying kill the wolf.  I have been around wolves most of my life and have never been threatened by them, but of course, I do not threaten them or intrude upon their area.  We all have to remember they are wild animals and are not your pet dog, which I seem to see that people seem to think they are and all wolves should act like our pet dogs.  We need to get out of this type of mentality when it comes to wolves and must remember while they look like a domestic dog they are not and the pack deserves their freedom just like you do yours.
