Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and BC Premier Gordon Campbell announced today that there will be an Evergreen Skytrain Line to the Tri-cities area of Vancouver.

Harper thinks that the new project will boost the economy.

"In the short-term, we are creating thousands of direct jobs in the Metro Vancouver economy," Harper said.

He said connecting Burnaby to Coquitlam and Port Moody will provide "efficient and environmentally sustainable transit" to families and businesses.

It is thought that the new project will bring in 8,000 direct and indirect jobs during the construction process.
The total cost of the project will be $1.4 billion.
