Promiscuous fish ?

Something strange is going on in England as scores of Koi come down with the Herpes virus.

The virus is similar to other forms of herpes

Is this a case of rampant sex in fish? or something far greater?

60 of the fish died at one of Britain's most prestigious royal gardens.

Far beyond the normal realm of the Human version of the STD

it could be disastrous for Koi owners across Britain. Once a fish is infected, experts say killing every other fish in the pond is the only way to stop the virus spreading.

If we had done this in humans the free loving 60's and 70's would have never come to an end.

ed (it) spreads through contact. A fish that comes into contact with water in which an infected fish has been swimming is susceptible to the virus, which has no cure.

Does this mean humans should worry about their next swim?

"There are no implications for human health regarding the KHV disease and it only affects fish of the carp variety,"
