The annual Shad Derby is this weekend. Lots of fishermen along the shore and in boats. Parking was begining to be a challenge. What a beautiful day, fishing or photography.
In 2006, almost 155,000 shad were lifted at the Holyoke fishway. About 1,500 shad were observed to pass the Turners Falls dam.
