Homer and the Giant 2

Standing 60 metres high, The Giant now has a friend! Made by a group of fans as a film promo for the upcoming Simpsons Movie, he's painted with biodegradable paint, which will wash off after a few weeks, so getting to photograph him was quite an honour (a dubious one!)

He's managed to annoy quite a few Pagan groups, who believe it is an ancient fertility symbol (The Giant, not Homer!).. This has recently been proven as dating back to the 17th Century, as opposed to Pagan belief that is goes back as far as the 11th.

Prior to his makeover, the Giant had a visitor from the USA in the form of Homer Simpson! Much controversy surrounded the painted Mr Simpson, with many claiming it devalued the Giant, and was an insult. The publicity stunt, intended to promote the Simpsons Movie drew vast numbers of visitors, and for the three weeks he remained there was the topic of much debate.
