It is great to see those in a position of celebrity showing off new green products.  Though, this is clearly publicity for Honda, it is spreading the word on future technologies that will replace gasoline based engines at some point.  It appears that the FCX is only available for lease at around $600 at the moment, but the price tag is sure to drop as hydrogen based vehicles begin to rise.  The price tag is a bit steap although many Americans face $500 plus monthly car payments, putting it well within reach of a fair portion of the United States.

Honda also lists a quick FAQ about the technology behind the Clarity and filling information.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc., today announced that its second FCX Clarity customer, Jamie Lee Curtis, took delivery of the vehicle on July 31, 2008. Curtis and husband Christopher Guest are the second of approximately 200 customers who will begin leasing the vehicle in the United States and Japan over the next three years.

"I really wasn't expecting it to be so luxurious," said Curtis. "It's luxurious, luxurious, luxurious! I love the interior layout, design and access to controls. It is user-friendly and very modern."

Actress and children's book author Curtis and her husband, filmmaker Guest, live in Santa Monica. They have owned other alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles and continue to seek out ways to live and advocate a greener lifestyle.

Ron Yerxa and Annette Ballester, Santa Monica residents, took delivery of the first FCX Clarity on July 25, 2008.

PlanMyGreen, I like this story. It's good stuff.

He could have both a BMW Hydrogen 2 years ago! Then again, better late then never!

Thanks Paschen, I 100% agree, atleast the publicity gets the word out.  With celebrities attaching their name to everything, its good to see it belong to something that can be beneficial.

Yes, it is rather puzzling to me how that works in some Western Countries, no one does any thing nor can they think for them self until a celebrity does it and then it becomes a mass movement! Now at times that movement can be counter productive and rather bad, yet in this case it is a good thing! Good Post! Thanks!

Maybe it's because nobody can run the risk of committing political incorrectness anymore !

They have us all right where they want us ...
