Hurricane Calvin: Category 1 Storm

Tropical Storm Calvin has become a hurricane, the third named storm of the 2011 Eastern Pacific hurricane season.  Hurricane Calvin is currently 340 miles off the eastern coast of Mexico.

Calvin is a Category One storm, with winds at around 75 miles per hour. It is expected to weaken without becoming a threat. No coastal watches or warnings have been issued.

If the name sounds familiar, a hurricane named Calvin made landfall on the west coast of Mexico in July 1993.
