Hurricane Carlos Forms Off Baja Coast

Tropical Storm Carlos has formed in to Hurricane Carlos off the coast of Mexico, about 1000 miles southwest from the top of Baja California. It is currently classified as a category one hurricane, but may become a category two.

There is no threat to land at this time however.

Tropical Storm Carlos has strengthened into the second hurricane of the Pacific hurricane season with maximum sustained winds near 80 mph

A category one hurricane has wind speeds between 74 - 95 mph, and a category two has 96 - 110 mph.

I haven't seen this on the news. Then again I'm in the UK.

I watched a program on TV recently called Natures Fury, and I was shocked at the power of these hurricanes. Lets just pray for the people living in the areas that will get attacked by this hurricane.
