Hurricane Fred has become more fierce than before, a Category 3 storm in the Atlantic Ocean. It was still far from land, the National Hurricane Center said

Earlier, Fred quickly strengthened to a Category 2. Fred's maximum sustained winds have increased to near 105 mph early Wednesday
