Live Video of Hurricane Irene in New York City

Hurricane Irene is set to reach New York City early on Sunday, August 28. You can watch a live hurricane cam via the player below.

We know full well that this live stream will mainly be watched by New Yorkers holding hurricane parties, or by couples who want some extra ambiance for hurricane sex. We know it's happening, and we're okay with that.

The live video feed is also useful for out-of-towners checking on their friends and loved ones, and for those who have always wanted to see a tenement-building-vs-tropical-storm showdown.

Hurricane Irene is expected to weaken when it reaches New York, though 80mph winds and 5-foot storm surges are no joke. There will be some very, very clean rats on Monday morning.
