NP Rank:
Hurricane Rick's first victim in Los Cabos
Yesterday afternoon Miguel Barraza Tapia drowned. He was swept away by strong waves that caused the Hurricane Rick in the whole area of Los Cabos.
Tapia Barraza was fishing at the seashore in San Jose del Cabo, when suddenly the waves caught him and dragged out to sea where he drowned.
According to the lifeguard Ricardo Villalobos, since yesterday afternoon it had warned all persons who were fishing along the sea and bathers to leave the place because the waves had become dangerous. Miguel Barraza Tapia, 38, would not meet this recommendation.
For this reason, elements of the police in Los Cabos are scouring the entire coastal area to remove people from the shore because the waves are coming up to 6 meters high.
Since yesterday afternoon was closed the port of Cabo San Lucas to navigation. Los Cabos International Airport continues its normal operations.
