Juneau's Mendenhall Glacier. This glacier has significantly receeded in the 7 years that I have lived in Juneau. I will soon add additional photos from when I first moved here in 2001.

I use to live in Juneau 20 years ago. It scares me to see how much of a change the glacier has gone through. I just heard how much the ice caps are melting at an alarming rate on CNN news today. I always hoped that one day I would get to show my children and grandchildren how beautiful glaciers are. I hope things turn around and get better. Your picture shows how much it has changed over time. I use to love going to the visitor center and see how big it really is.
