5.3 Earthquake Hits Parma, Bologna Region

An earthquake measuring 5.2 in magnitude struck northern Italy, with an epicenter22 miles southwest of Parma (see map below).  The quake, which lasted several seconds, was felt in Turin and Milan.

An earthquake measuring 5.1 in magnitude struck the same region on January 26, causing minor damage. There have been no reports of damage or injury so far from the January 27 quake.
