Japan offers soft loan for forest rehabilitation in Indonesia

Tanami said he and the vice president discussed among other things Indonesia`s plans to host the international conference for climate change in Bali, next December.
The JBIC governor said he and the vice president had agreed to establish cooperation in the environmental field where Indonesia needed funds to rehabilitate its damaged forests.
He said the soft loan offer was JBIC`s commitment to assisting countries like Indonesia in the handling of environmental issues.
Tanami said Indonesia was the biggest recipient of Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA).
