Campaign Update Date: 16th September Save Japan Dolphins campaigners in Taiji have saved 70 dolphins from slaughter this week. Fishermen captured 100 bottlenose dolphins and 50 pilot whales on September 9th, but last Sunday 13th September, 70 of these dolphins were released unharmed. The fishermen hope to sell the remaining 30 dolphins to dolphinaria. Sadly, although we could not save the pilot whales this time, the release of the dolphins represents a significant development. Ultimately, we hope to persuade Taiji’s fishermen to stop the killing of all dolphins and other small whales, and for other Japanese coastal towns to follow suit.
