Jaxport Continues to hold Mayport Hostage into 2012

Once again the battle rages on with Jaxport at the helm while Mayport community struggles to hold on to their dreams and hopes to develop the small fishing village in Mayport. In the begining the public sees the Port authority strong arm tactics using tax dollars to bully the little fishing village into submission of Carnival cruise line plans to build a cruise ship terminal in the small village of Mayport. Jaxport needed waterfront property to beat the village and in making a deal emergency with the City it agreed to run the ferry for a few years to gain access to the most vital piece of property 4610 ocean street the ferry land office In exchange the City would allow the port to keep this piece of property. ex city councilman John Meserve was convicted for praticing without a liceance yet nothing was ever restored Jaxport sits on this fenced waterfront property without giving plans for over 5 years waisting tax dollars, denying public access to enjoyment of this property. Jaxport claims its an economic engine yet it has no plans to release while holding Mayport hostage.
