Joplin, MO Tornado: Destruction Path a Mile Wide
A massive tornado tore through Joplin, Missouri, killing at least 89 people and carving a mile-wide path of destruction through the city. The Joplin tornado hit at around on May 22, destroyed at least 2,000 homes and businesses. The death toll is expected to rise as rescue and cleanup efforts continue. [Update: the Joplin tornado death toll has risen to 116 so far.]
St. John's Regional Medical Center, the main hospital in the region, was hit directly by the tornado; its roof was torn off and all of its windows were smashed. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has declared a state of emergency, and FEMA is sending an emergency management team to Joplin.

Around 30% of Joplin, Missouri was damaged by the monster tornado; several others tore through the region as well. This is the deadliest tornado to strike the US since 1953.

This veteran journalist fears that the recent spate of tornados could be generated by scalar electromagnetic directed energy weapons in the hands of military contractor/command pseudo-fundamentalist crazies who believe in "helping" God to spawn Armageddon. It may be no coincidence that the worst single tornado in American history happened in Joplin, MO the day after the predicted "rapture." This is either a full-blown "eco-war" or a military defense contractor cabal is "testing" its scalar electromagnetic weather mods on innocent Americans -- and killing them in the process.
Also, the commenter to my blog site (http://NowPublic.com/scrivener) who goes by the name "Poseidon 1" -- the same avatar who predicted the Japan earthquake and tsunami a couple of days before the event -- again posted to my blog site on Saturday, talking about great winds... and sarcastically saying that he hopes I survive the winds. Someone inside Lockheed Martin appears to have knowledge of these weather mods and appears to be using "Poseidon 1" either to gloat about this beastiality -- or perhaps to WARN us about persons on the inside of the defense establishment who are using scalar elecromagnetic weapons to further "God's plan." If I were an official of the FBI, I would initiate a total surveillance blanket of ALL military contractor operations involving HAARP, the cell tower microwave weapon system deployed everywhere, and any other scalar electromagnetic weapon system in the arsenal. After watching the very sobering video of that family having to endure this event, posting another one of your silly conspiracy theory riddled replies just to indulge yourself is in really poor taste, Scrivener.
There are no such thing as "scalar electromagnetic" weapons, the whole theory doesn't pass muster with any credible scientists in the realm of physics, not that credibility has ever been a pursuit of yours.
The people of Joplin MO have been struck with a cruel blow, find something else to amuse yourself with besides rubbing salt in their wounds.

Joplin did get hit hard..Said town was 75% destroyed on news..

scrivener- I feel like you do. To- batvette: don't mistake (possibly) this fear and concern about weather weapons to counteract any genuine sympathy for Joplin's people. On the contrary, I think the American people really need to wake up, read their bibles if for no other reason than to help determine if the govt. or God is creating these 'apocalyptic' events. Also keep in mind the states that are debating gay marriage & such as these weather systems hit. Coincidence? I'm not sold on the idea that it's Govt. but look up HAARP and scrivener- you're not alone.

And these aren't new.
The longest documented tornado laid a path of destruction 219 miles long in 1925. It was also the deadliest in US history killing at least 695 people.
As for number of tornadoes:
The most extensive tornado outbreak on record was the Super Outbreak, which affected a large area of the central United States and extreme southern Ontario in Canada on April 3 and 4, 1974. This outbreak, which saw 148 tornadoes develop in 18 hours, included six of F5 intensity and twenty-four that peaked at F4 strength. Sixteen tornadoes were on the ground at the same time during its peak. More than 300 people, possibly as many as 330, were killed by tornadoes during this outbreak
