Panic grieped residents of Gathanji in Nyandarua North, Kenya, when an entire 50 hectares of land was covered by hailstorms causing over 100 goats and cows to go missing. According the area residents, the rare condition has never happened and they have been left counting losses as acres of maize plantations were destoyed.
Hundreds of people from the neighboring Nyahururu town streamed in the village to see what many reffered as 'Chicago during Winter.'
"I have never seen anything like this, this is what I see in my geography books. We need the experts to explain what is this and what are the caused." said one of the farmers.
The area was formerly covered by a forest but it is now open for the last 20 years with the residents doing subsistence farming in the area.

JOSEPH KANYI, I like this story. It's good stuff.
