Since British Petroleum's fatal drilling rig collapse and explosion on Tuesday, April 20th Key West and the Florida Keys have been on a state of emergency.
City, County, State and Federal agencies have thus far initiated forums with both public input invited and without.
Focus has mostly been on the amount of oil being leaked into the Gulf, the toxicity of the dispersant being used,  the "loop" of the Gulf Stream inside the Gulf, and the likelihood of this mix reaching the fragile ecosystem of the Florida Keys
While some are being optimistic, since the containment dome has proven not to work at this time, hope for the best is fading.
It seems it is only a matter of time this deadly mix reach our estuaries, waterways and living coral reef.
The photos included are of the various meetings and demonstrations I've attended so far.
