Bear in mind that this post comes from the Daily Mail:

"A shocked driver was forced to flee an angry mob who turned on him as he tried to help a dying toddler he had accidentally knocked down in his car.

The 45-year old motorist stopped his silver estate after it struck three-year-old Harley Huetson who was playing on a scooter in the road.

But as the unnamed driver tried to help resuscitate Harley, angry locals confronted the man and began pushing and jostling him on the street.

They began hurling abuse and even smashed his car windows. Fearful he would be attacked, the man tried to drive off, but abandoned the Vauxhall Astra a few streets away.

However, some of the residents continued to chase him and he flagged down a passing car, before handing himself in to a police station moments later.

The driver distraught about the mob? What about the child he killed? In a residential area, motorists should expect kids.. but parents need to keep an eye on their children.

Lots of questions: Why couldn't he do an emergency stop? Did he not see the child? Was there a problem with his eyesight? Was his vehicle too high and so unable to see the child? What was the speed of the road, 40, 30 or 20? Did he have specialist driving skills like Advanced Driving? Was his radio blaring away? What speed was he going at?

The article does not state which road it was and whether there have been several similar accidents there too.

I bet he'll be more careful from now on.   This is commonplace in India where an average of 13 people die every hour in traffic related accidents.  Therefore, i am currently not a driver and do not promote it.
