Horses in evacuated areas threatened by the Malibu and other fires raging this week are finding safe refuge at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, a Los Angeles County large animal emergency evacuation center. As of noon on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 153 horses had been logged in, sheltered and fed under the direction of the L.A. County Volunteer Equine Response team.
