Southern Australia - A family's snapshot of an orphaned baby koala taking refuge from Australia's heatwave has been circulating worldwide.

The koala, dubbed "Star," came down from her tree in a garden and seemingly begged for water on a house's verandah.   Wildlife officials have come to her aid, and she's now doing well in an animal infirmary.  She is to be returned to the wild when fully recovered from the high temperatures that set records on the south coast of Australia last week.

The baby was found shaking underneath a verandah and “looking very sick” after its mother was apparently overcome by the ferocious heatwave that struck Victoria last week.

I thought they only came in 6-packs...

(This is the cuteness silver lining to a heatwave that's doing some serious damage in Oz)
