Mexico, State of Yucatan, Chechen Itza, Kukulkan Pyramid.
One of the seventh marvellous place of the world. Unesco World Heritage (1988)
Already built in 800 after Christ, 25 metres high, the pyramid hides an important cosmogonic simbology. Maya civilisation got a lot of important acknoledments about astronomy during its own life.
It is not as "regular" pyramid but all in the Maya culture is not linear, but a fantastic play of irregular forms, who follows the irregualrity of the nature and of human life.
Divided in 18 terraces as the Maya months, pyramid has 91 steps for each of the forth parts of building. The total is 365, like the days of the year. Every face of the pyramid is vested from 52 panels, the most important division of Maya calendar, which divided the period of the life in unity of 52 years. During the equinoces of mars and september the wall of the north stairs - among 12,00 and 17,00 o'clock - for an impressionant and ralistic light play brights and shows a snake movement who looks creeping on all the facade of Pyramid.
The Pyramid is dedicated to God Quetzolcoatl (or Kukulkan)., The Snake Bird.
