La Canada Flintridge City Station Fire in LA Grows to 300 Acres
The Fire, known as La Canada Flintridge City Fire Station Fire, Los Angeles is growing in size due to the warm dry weather. It is currently burning in the Angeles National Forest and is 300 acres in size.
It is now only about 10 percent contained. It is called the Station Fire because it started near the Angeles Crest Ranger Station, although it is not known if foul play was involved at this time.
There are currently two fires burning on the San Gabriele Mountains. The La Canada fire has already spread to the LA Basin and San Bernadino County, and firefighters are working hard to get it under control.
Sam Atwood, a spokesman of the South Coast Air Quality Management District told sources that the smoke would worsen in the days to come as per his experience. It was also a major concern since there was no sea breeze in the area. There has been do damage to life or property due to the two fires.
The Williams Camp resort on the San Gabriele River has already been evacuated, and at least 25 acres have been burned so far. A fire has not been in this area for about 25 years.
Camp Hi Hill and Clear Creek School have both been evacuated as well.
