Lady Gaga Rocks MTV's Video Music Aid Japan
Commanding the stage like no other, Lady Gaga performed at the MTV Video Music Aid Japan at Chiba City in suburban Tokyo on Saturday (June 25).
After making her typical lavish arrival, the Mother Monster stepped in front of the Makuhari messe crowd to offer up renditions of her hit songs "Born This Way" and "Edge of Glory".
As for the cause, Japanese and foreign singers performed at the charity concert in support of the victims of the March 11 tsunami and earthquake disaster.
Tweeting during the goodwill festivities, Gaga wrote, "Celebrating in Tokyo with The Haus. A Lemon Sawa for equality, overcoming + the hope of the future."
On Thursday (June 23) the 25-year-old was spotted at the MTV Video Music Aid Japan Press Conference where she donned a green wig and all-black ensemble.
Lady Gaga told press that besides being in Japan for the upcoming MTV Awards, she also hopes to be able to boost the country's sagging tourism industry.
"I would like to use my position here today and all week long to run around Tokyo enjoy the beautiful city and kiss all the beautiful little monsters and scream at the top of my lungs that everyone should come visit this beautiful place."
The previous evening (June 22) Gaga was spotted enjoying the Tokyo nightlife as she showed up at a popular Shabu Shabu restaurant.
In town to prepare for her performance on the 2011 MTV Japan Music Video Awards, the "Alejandro" singer took some time to greet fans and sign autographs while at Shabuzen in Roppongi.
During a recent interview, Lady GaGa confessed she also wants to pursue a career in fashion design when she takes a break from her musical endeavors.
"I really, really have such admiration for fashion designers and I'm such good friends with them. I'd love to have a fashion line when I stop making music for a while, for a year. But that's not going to happen soon. I'm in love with song-writing right now."
