The Lago Vista Fire Burning Near Palmdale Has Reportedly Prompted Evacuations

The fire is located southeast of Palmdale and was first reported around 3pm burning about 15 acres near Big Pines Rd and Lago Vista Rd. ABC News is reporting that evacuations have been ordered due to the fire but further instructions have not been made available to the media at this time. It is thought that the evacuations have been ordered along Big Pines Highway, but those are unconfirmed at this time.

KTLA News is reporting that the fire has now consumed between 60 and 80 acres and homes in the Valtermo community near Palmdale and Wrightwood are in danger of being consumed by the fire. They have a live video feed of the fire.

There are also unconfirmed reports that the Big Pine Cafe has already been burned by the fire. 

The cause of the blaze is not known at the time of publication.
