Strange clouds known as lenticular clouds(lenticularis) but also known as "flying saucer clouds," "angelship clouds", "cloudships", "clouds of heaven".these clouds and clouds of similar kind have been reported as ufos in cloud disguise.for others these cloud formations can be completely different things or simply just clouds.in the bible there is much written about cloudships.the bible is referring to some type of flying craft that possess an ability to hover in one place for a longer time and appears in the sky surrounded with clouds.ancient texts describe how pilots could using correct proportions of certain chemicals give their flying machine "the appearence of a cloud".

I don't know whether this has been flagged up on NP before, but the Cloud Appreciation Society is a fun site to see stuff about clouds. I especially recommend their coverage of the Morning Glory in Australia.

These clouds appeared yesterday afternoon on the sea. They are called lenticular, and the wind is called Terral

The month of January 2009, offered up at least two days for viewing some wonderful lenticular clouds over Mount Shasta, in the very Northern portion of California. They are a spectacular sight to see, as the ones I have witnessed seeing so far, have lingered all day long, constantly moving, changing, shifting, swirling, and reforming.

The lenticular cloud was present only on this mountain and very faintly on the neigbouring peak. None of the other mountains around did not have even a trace of anything similar.
