Many people will doubt the validity of such a comment. But it is true - the LIVESTOCK industry is the leading cause of climate change.

All we have to do is stop eating meat - and be healthy, happy vegetarians.

In 2006 the United Nations reported that the meat industry is the leading cause of global warming, and the most serious environmental issue we have ever faced.
The issue is that the industry destroys so much land just to deliver to you a piece of meat. Land degradation through cutting down trees, animal waste polluting the rivers, and the loss of biodiversity is the leading cause of our environmental issues.

According to a new report published by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the livestock sector generates more greenhouse gas emissions as measured in CO2 equivalent – 18 percent – than transport. It is also a major source of land and water degradation.

Now, governments are taking notice. The EU has introduced a policy to reduce factory farming through Europe. And Britain has recently passed a law that will see the meat industry be eradicated by the turn of the century.

The European Parliament’s temporary Committee on Climate Change has adopted important amendments that reinforce the need to reduce the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated by the livestock sector.

Kudos to all government agencies taking note, and saving our Earth. Now it is your turn. All you simply need to do is stop eating meat, and lead a plant based diet.
This way, we will SAVE THE EARTH - act now, to prevent a future?

I have a question for you.   What do we do with all the cows that we don.t eat.  Do we kill them to save the planet or do we set them free to roam the fields?

I.m surrounded by cattle farmers here and the pastures, which have existed for over one hundred years, just keep coming back.  I have a bored shallow well and it.s some of the finest water in the neighborhood.

I think cattle ranching is a case of good management.  Not one rancher, I know, is interested in destroying the land.  In fact, if the truth were known, they are some of the best shepherds of the land.

As a next step we can all quit driving, stop the transport of goods across the world and why produce grain, etc since a lot of diesel is being used to seed and harvest it.  Why don.t we quit eating period.

Maybe instead of worrying about cows, we should worry about human overpopulation of this planet.
