London: Paper Plane 'Flashmob' against Third Runway planned for 3rd July outside Department of Transport
Campaigners on the Greenpeace website (www.greenpeace.org.uk) are planning to tell Ruth Kelly exactly what they think about the third runway and why it should be scrapped.
The protesters will campaign outside the Department of Transport (the corner of Marsham Street and Horseferry Road) at 11am sharp. At 11.03 (precisely) those wearing ‘Stop Airport Expansion' t-shirts will reveal them, and then they will all launch their paper planes (downloaded from the site) in the direction of the Department.
The third runway is unnecessary, they claim, and will add to CO2 emissions and destroy local communities. Transport Secretary Ruth Kelly hasn't even had a proper consultation with local authorities and residents which is why they need to step in and make their opposition heard.
