Los Angeles Earthquake: 4.5 Magnitude in Orange County
An earthquake struck the greater Los Angeles area at 9:33am on August 8, 2012. The quake measured 4.5 in magnitude, and was quickly followed by a 3.4-magnitude aftershock.
The epicenter of the Los Angeles earthquake was in Yorba Linda; see map below. According to Google Maps, the quake was centered right underneath Yorba Linda High School.
So far, no reports of serious injury or damage have emerged.
