The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released a spectacular "Rooster Tail" Thursday at Lucky Peak, reservoir east of Boise, Idaho.
Thanks to a steady, wet spring water had to be released to make room for melting snow from the surrounding mountains. The popular event attracts people from all over the Treasure Valley. It only happens when there's more water than what is needed to power the dam at full capacity.
The three-hour display is scheduled from 4:00 until 7:00 pm.
The "Rooster Tail" can reach up to 150 feet in height depending on flows from the reservoir.
