Manhattanhenge Photos 2011: The Manhattan Solstice
New Yorkers Capture Manhattanhenge in its Magical Glory
"Manhattanhenge" is when the sunset lines up directly with Manhattan's east-west streets. If you're driving on an odd-numbered street at sundown, you'll need your shades. If you're a pedestrian, you'll need a camera.
If you missed Manhattanhenge, you'll get another chance on July 13. The "Manhattan Solstice" occurs on either side of the Summer Solstice: usually the end of May and just before mid-July.
Check out some Manhattanhenge photos below, as well as Michael Tapp's awesome bike commuter shot.
