I worked on one of the first Martin Mars airplanes. I was a "Rosy the Riveter" in WWII when the Mars was built by the Glenn L. Martin Company in Maryland. I was taken off of the B-26 Marauder and moved to one of the Mars planes to do riveting. In 2007 or 2008 the Glenn L. Martin Company tried to buy one of the two Mars planes for sale, but the planes were bought by the Coulson Company in Canada to be used to fight forest fires. The Company said they could manufacture just about any part that the plane needed to keep flying.
