The melting of one of the world's largest ice sheets would alter the Earth's field of gravity and even its rotation in space so much that it would cause sea levels along some coasts to rise faster than the global average, scientists said yesterday.

Research by Professor Jonathan Bamber of Bristol University in the United Kingdom said that the lost of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet due to human-caused global warming will result in significant ocean level rises. He suggested that the loss of vast ice mass from the southern hemisphere would cause a stronger gravitational pull in the north. The calculations performed will see the US North east and west coasts experience sea levels rise of 25% - that is your home is UNDERWATER.
A study into how the West Antarctic Ice Sheet could respond to global warming has found its disintegration would change the focus of the planet's gravitational field, so sea levels would rise disproportionately more around North America than in other parts of the world. If the ice sheet covering West Antarctica disappears, the loss of so much mass from the southern hemisphere would effectively make the pull of gravity stronger in the northern hemisphere, affecting the spin of the Earth and causing sea levels to rise higher here than in the south, where the mass of ice is currently located.

Communities in the western world think that this isn't real, as they have not seen it yet. You only have to look at your negbhours to see the massive destruction. India, Australia, Indonsia, Phillipines and Central America being rocked by the affects of global warming. Though, for some reason people are not respnding, that might change pretty quick when they don't have a home, or the Earth tilts.
Do you know what that means? well, times every natural disaster you could think of by a thousand and you may have a glimpse.
Global warming must be mitigated - NOW. There is no more time. Stop eating meat - stop supporting factory farms - BE GREEN, GO VEG - SAVE THE PLANET.
There is only one thing that we can do - act to save our lives, save your childrens lives, save our benevlovant Earth.

crazy - imagine the earth shifting its axis - that would be cataclysmic...It would be too late if waited till then though.

If... that really is going to happen, it will be very disturbing indeed. Changes in gravity will have many more implication as we at the moment are able to think off!

Yeah - not too many good times if that happens TinTinMan. But it could be so real, if we don't act.

Time to act is now!!! I don't want to see the skies opening up.

The Earth did shift its gravitational axis a couple of times over the past 1 billion years, even since Human have been on Earth this has happen in the past 70,000. years. It almost caused the total extinction of Humanity.

It is estimated that only 2000 Human survived this and all Human today decent from those survivors out of Africa.

The Ice that make up the North pole wound raise the sea level though since it is already in the sea. However should the Ice on land melt in the mountains and on Antarctica then the see levels could rise up to 70 metres.

The latest survey has fund that the Ice around Antarctica is melting wish is in the water, however the Ice on the continent is increasing, wish may compensate the loss.

However with the Ice melting on the North pole the gravitational field will have to change and this could have disastrous consequences for all life.

Putting major stress on the crust and causing Volcanic activity and well as Earthquakes like we have not seen for a million years. It could mean that whole continents will disappear and appear with in weeks.

It would also mean drastic temperature changes and increased toxic levels in the air. Further it will lover the Oxygen level for 100,000 years or more and we suffocate, boil, freeze and burn all at the same time or with in days interval.

Changes in the magnetic field will affect our brains and memory.

An important piece, thank you

Uwe's explanation does me thinking about the fact, which in French is a famous expression: 'La histoire se répète.' History does repeat itself. I wrote yesterday in a comment about the self healing cappability of mother nature. Maybe this significant aspect is part of it?

I am fully agree with you Paschen !

you are right. and your comments are very informative.

thanks.

That's what I meant Uwe. A total disaster as has happened in history several times over. Don't be naive to think that within this divided world coordination for such important issues can be reached, not to talk about its execution. Apocalypse will be the final result. The only ones responsible is humanity itself. Sad but maybe true...

Yeah that is right PIM of SPAIN. Pretty heavy report. We couldn't even fathom what it would mean for the Earth if it was to change its axis.

You bring a whole new aspect to light - a shift in gravitational pull.  The potential for global disaster is incalculable.

Nature may be able to heal it self, however, Humanity may not survive the healing process.

I think we would be better of changing and cleaning up our mess ASAP. So the healing may not kill us all.

80% of Humanity will be destroyed in the best case scenario and 100% in the worth case scenario. 200 Years of industrial Pollution and a massive over population has in large part broth us to this point.

Very bad management and even worth is we know and still mismanage.

Hum, I could not have said it better PIM of SPAIN.

Thanks Uwe, we again are on the same wave-length with our thinking.

VERY exciting! While even the most conservative dim-witted among us admit the human race as a whole is stupid and destructive -- I wonder how many recognize how extremely exciting these times are.  Nature will always rule and only the smartest most capable of each species will survive. This is evolution in the making and we are sitting on the window ledge observing Nature at her best. Wow!

A good point StormyWheater it is humanity that destroys there own future and existence. Stupid, selfishness and egoism are forces stronger than general understanding and performances. Because of those factors it are the most intelligent, clever, and smart people that shall survive. An evolution in the making not only on climate but economically as well.

Nature will survive and hope we and/or our siblings after all is settled will be amongst the observers and doers, becoming the new builders for a better world, able to teach this lesson to future generations.:)

Protrusions, I said protrusions......the beer that protrudes in your blood.  That can cause some of this problem.  There is no doubt that the Earth has shifted.  I have noticed the sun rising in a completely different area this summer and it was so gradual as to not notice until someone makes note of it.  This will be a huge disaster and the government knows they can do nothing, so they say nothing.

Other scientist say that the Antarctic Ice Sheet continues to expands and contracts over time. I refer to Global Warming Swindle in which is provided the link to a 90 minute documentary with ample explanations on the subject about Global Warming.
