I would have to say this is a turtle that is missing it's shell. I would like to know what size this is. Has anyone taken the messurments of it? Let me know Beth Powers

Okay, people keep saying "a turtle without its shell," and for this I am ashamed of the American public school science education. Unlike in the cartoons, a turtle CANNOT slip out of its shell, no would the shell decompose before the soft tissue. The shell of a turtle is actually fused ribs and spine that have been modified, with all of its tissues and vital organs attached directly to it with no skin in between. What we see in this picture to a decomposing raccoon: the "beak" is the underlying skull with the soft tissue of the nose gone, the feet are swollen from decomposition, but nonetheless show every anatomical feature of a raccoon.

i agree with Sio... it does have the appearence of a pig/ bird cross, but if u were to add on the matter of it being out there decaying, the hair and skin would be there giving it the appearence of a racoon. I do think that it is possible to see that the feet are swollen, but i think that it is a tumor in the right hind leg.

looks pretty real i think it s reall obviously not a turtle maybe lab ex periment gone wrong or maybe a dead animal with some messed up pollution. maybe the parts went together. Did it decompose yet??? if it did its probably a messed up mixture. who knows it might be part of a secretive establishments expirement..
